The Baltimore Ravens have been looking for a true No. 1 wide receiver ever since Steve Smith Sr. left town following the 2016 season. They have a few young players who could earn that title over the next couple of years, including Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman. However, the team could surprise and look to upgrade their receiving corps even further. - Recently, there have been a lot of rumors as well as news surrounding Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry. When listing out four possible landing spots for Landry if he ends up being moved, Alex Kay of Bleacher Report named Baltimore, mentioning that Landry would compliment both Brown and Bateman. - - - “Sammy Watkins, who Landry might replace within the Ravens offense, had just 17 receiving first downs in 13 games…The Ravens would be foolish to pass on an opportunity to add Landry into the mix. The savvy veteran would be an ideal fit in this receiving corps, complementing Brown and promising rookie Rashod Bateman by moving the chains and making reliable plays.” - - While Landry might not be on the same level as some of the top elite wideouts in the NFL, he’s still extremely talented and would make the Ravens’ receiver group better. However, two important notes are that Baltimore would have to commit a decently sized chunk of money to a position that isn’t a huge need at the moment, and they’d also likely have to give up somewhat decent draft compensation to acquire him. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Ravens Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Ravens Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
