The Baltimore Ravens have seen a few of their 2022 free agents leave the organization to pursue other opportunities over the last few days. Players such as tight end Eric Tomlinson, cornerback Anthony Averett and quarterback Josh Johnson all moved over to the daunting AFC West. However, center Bradley Bozeman took his talents to the NFC with the Carolina Panthers. - Bozeman signed a one-year deal with Carolina, and on Sunday the details of his contract came out. Many were shocked by the low numbers that the center received, and thought that the team should have matched the offer. - - Bradley Bozeman one-year Panthers deal: $2.8M, $1M signing bonus, $1.035M base salary, up to $500K per games active roster bonus, $265K workout bonus - — Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) March 20, 2022 - - - Bozeman’s play over the last few seasons far outweighs the contract he ultimately got in free agency. It’s fair to wonder why Baltimore didn’t decide to seemingly pursue Bozeman at that price, but Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic speculates that the Ravens might have shut the door on the center returning to the team when he turned down an extension offer in December. - - I believe it was more the Ravens. Seems like they shut the door after they couldn't sign him in December. I'm not sure they made him an offer once FA started. I know they hadn't as of mid last week. Maybe they did later in the week after his market dropped, but I'm not sure - — Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) March 21, 2022 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Ravens Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Ravens Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
