The Baltimore Ravens have made a few splash signings over the first few days of 2022 free agency. They’ve brought in safety Marcus Williams, offensive tackle Morgan Moses and defensive tackle Michael Pierce, each of which fills a key need for the team. - When putting together an updated 2022 free agency needs list for each NFL team, Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report named three key areas where Baltimore could still improve at in cornerback, offensive tackle and EDGE. When explaining his choices of cornerback and offensive tackle, Davenport went into detail about injury concerns at both positions. - “The return of Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey will certainly help at cornerback, but after watching injuries devastate the position last year, depth at that spot would be welcome. It’s a similar story at offensive tackle. Ronnie Stanley is an outstanding left tackle when healthy, but after missing 26 games the past two years, having a viable “Plan B” behind him is a must.” - Davenport also talked about Baltimore’s need at edge rusher, pointing to the deal that fell through between the Ravens and Za’Darius Smith as a reason why the team needs to continue to look for upgrades at the position after a lack of sacks in 2021. - “The Ravens also didn’t have a lot of success rushing the passer last season, tallying just 34 sacks. Baltimore will be hoping for a second-year jump from edge-rusher Odafe Oweh, but after the Za’Darius Smith deal fell through, adding some youth and athleticism in the early stages of the 2022 draft is another possibility.” - Cornerback and edge rusher seem like two areas that Baltimore could invest some money in before the 2022 NFL draft. However, with the signing of Moses, they could opt to draft another tackle in the draft as opposed to spending even more money at the position. That way they’d have more resources to allocate to other areas. - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Ravens Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Ravens Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
