The Baltimore Ravens are looking to shore up their roster and improve after a disappointing 2021 season where they went 8-9 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2017. To do that, the team has made multiple moves in 2022 free agency to get better on both sides of the ball. - When naming one 2022 offseason move that each NFL team could regret, Maurice Moten of Bleacher Report named the signing of defensive lineman Michael Pierce as his choice for Baltimore. When explaining why, Moten talked about how the Ravens should have signed Pierce to a short-term deal due to how many games he’s missed over the last few years and potential low snap share on Baltimore’s defense. - “Over the past two years, Pierce has missed 25 games, opting out of the 2020 term and battling an elbow injury in 2021. At 29 years old, going on 30 in November, he’ll likely play less than 50 percent of the defensive snaps at 6’0″, 340 pounds. Typically, a player with his profile signs for a short-term deal.” - Pierce is still an extremely talented player, even with missing so many games recently. He is a good run stuffer who can push the pocket as a pass rusher, and his three-year, $16.5 million deal doesn’t necessarily break the bank. However, the Ravens will need him to be healthy for most (if not all) of 2022, and if he can’t stay on the field it could pose a big problem for Baltimore. -   - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Ravens Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Ravens Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
