The Baltimore Ravens have had talent on their defensive line for years. Many faces have come and gone through Baltimore, and on a team that prides themselves on defense, the defensive line has been a big part of their dominance. In 2021, the Ravens had a top-three run defense in many different categories, and that had to do a lot with how well the defensive line was able to stop opposing ball carriers for little or no gain. Two key pieces responsible for that were defensive lineman Brandon Williams and Calais Campbell. When Williams was asked about what his gut tells him regarding Campbell’s future, the veteran cracked a joke and then said that he hopes his teammate has a good offseason.“Hopefully, the first thing I think Get some tea and some lozenges, because I think he’s got a soar throat.(laughter)But then after that, I don’t know what he’s going to do. I just hope he has a good offseason, and if he comes back, I’d love to have him back and love to play alongside of him still, but if he’s not, ride off into the sunset, happy, man. Enjoy it. You deserve it. He earned it, for sure.”Campbell will turn 36 in September and is entering unrestricted free agency in the 2022 offseason. He recently said that he’s loved being a Raven, but also said that evaluating the future is a process. Williams himself will turn 33 in February and will also be a free agent in a few months, so the Baltimore defensive line could look very different in 2022 depending on the futures of both players.EmailSign upLike this article?Sign up for the Ravens Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morningAn error has occuredPlease re-enter your email address. Thanks for signing up!You'll now receive the top Ravens Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
