The Celtics PRIDE guys react to the news of Danny Ainge retiring, and the promotion of Brad Stevens to the President of Basketball Operations. Josh waxes maybe a little too poetic about his theories of how this transition was in the works for a couple years since Danny Ainge’s heart attack in 2019, and gives a heart-felt “Thank You” to Danny Ainge with some words of gratitude for his 18 years at the helm of the Basketball Operations and personnel decisions. - “The main thing is that Celtics pride continuity is maintained with the homegrown guys staying within the franchise to keep tradition alive. That's the bridge that Danny Ainge made from red Auerbach, and if Brad stays a while and can handle the job, that's the best way to continue having good people and maintaining tradition at the same time. It creates hopefully continued continuity of institutional legacy.”   - Mike and Adam ask “is this a good thing?” and offer implications of this move on the team going forward. Then Josh provides some names of candidates out of his list of 25 that should be on the short list due to three criteria: 1.) Ties to franchise legacy and history, 2.) Age/relatability to the new generation, and 3.) Respect from the players. - Remember to rate, review, and subscribe to the Celticsblog podcast feed (we're “Celtics PRIDE”) and follow us on Twitter @celticspridepod, a @celticsblog podcast.  - Hosts: Adam Motenko, Josh Motenko @coachmotenko and Mike Minkoff @mikeminkoffnba.   - Email: at [email protected] - You can find regular episodes of the CelitcsPod and Celtics PRIDE podcasts on Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, or wherever else you listen to your podcasts. - Learn more about your ad choices.
