It is the one time of the year that you want your football team to be extremely confident in what their quarterback can do on the field. - The Buffalo Bills have that going for them. - On Sunday, the Bills (11-6) will faceoff against the Kansas City Chiefs (12-5) on the road in the playoff once again. This time it’s in the AFC divisional round. - It’s a team game, yes, but with Patrick Mahomes doing the quarterbacking on the other side of the field, your team needs a QB that can go toe-to-toe with him. Enter Josh Allen. - Buffalo’s quarterback has led his team to five-straight wins. That’s the same number of touchdown passes Allen (and Mahomes) just had last week alone. - All things considered, the Bills have a locker room full of players that think Allen is going to get the job done in Kansas City no matter what. - Running back Devin Singletary said the victories might even start before the first whistle at Arrowhead Stadium. - “That’s Josh for you. He’s the ultimate competitor, he doesn’t even want to lose the coin toss,” Singletary said via video conference. - “Josh is our general. I say that time and time again, he’s our general. He approaches everything that way. He approaches day in and day out that way. He’s just a dog. He’s fearless, he doesn’t fear a thing,” Singletary added. “When he steps out there just know he’s not not blinking. At all. No matter the situation. He’s always in kill mode, that’s the best way to put it.” - Such passion from the quarterback evidently rubs off according to offensive lineman Dion Dawkins. - “Shoot, I guess the question is, what isn’t it about Josh Allen [that makes you want to run through a wall]? Josh is Josh. When I say Josh is Josh, he’s his own person. He’s a big kid just having fun and a lot of people don’t realize that,” Dawkins said. “He does a great job of taking it serious and just being him.” - Sunday could potentially be a huge part of Allen’s legacy. It won’t write the whole thing, but it’s going to be a chapter in it. - While most of us only see the efforts on game day, what’s behind closed doors stands out. Especially for a coach. - “It’s a burning desire to be the best,” Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said via video conference. “And not just the week of the game or on game day, running out of the tunnel on game day. It’s the process, going back to the offseason. They always say, ‘when nobody is watching, what are you doing?'” - Allen even admitted that the spotlight is going to shine bright. But he doesn’t seem to be one that’s shying away from the challenge. - (The Chiefs) are the Mecca of the AFC. That’s the team that everybody wants to aspire to be. To be in three AFC championships in a row and to be in two Super Bowls in a row. That’s the type of level we want to be and in order to be the best you have to beat the best,” Allen said. “They’ve really been one of the, if not the best teams in the last four years. Again, we’ve got a good opportunity here and we’re excited for it as I’m sure they are as well.” - - RelatedBills 'took it personal' to get running game into a rhythmJosh Allen, Patrick Mahomes exchange mutual respect ahead of another playoff clashGiants hire Bills' Joe Schoen as general manager - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bills Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bills Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
