The Kansas City Chiefs were handed some potential bad news for their defense this week. Turns out that was not the case. - According to Chiefs Wire, linebacker Willie Gay Jr. who was arrested on Wednesday, will play against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. That contest will be an AFC divisional-round matchup. - Gay was charged with a misdemeanor for criminal damage. - Here are details on the arrest via Chiefs Wire: - Gay was arrested on one count of misdemeanor criminal damage in Johnson County, Kansas on Wednesday night. The arrest allegedly stems from a domestic dispute where Gay is accused of damaging a vacuum cleaner, door frame and more items. Gay missed the team’s second practice of the week as he awaited his Thursday afternoon arraignment. - The decision to play Gay against Buffalo came right from the top. Kansas City head coach Andy Reid said it was his choice. - “Other than (Rashad) Fenton, everybody else practiced,” Reid said on Friday. “Willie (Gay Jr.) was a part of that. I know that’s where we’ll be going here, so you don’t have to. He’s going to play, he was at practice.” - “Well, I decided that he’ll play,” Reid added. “I’m not going to get into the conversations (that we’ve had). I’m not going to do that. I decided that after just hearing some of the information there.” - Gay has appeared in 13 games for the Chiefs this season, starting in 12 of them, including last week’s postseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. - The second-year linebacker had 48 tackles, one for loss, a half-sack, four passes defended and two interceptions on the year. - - RelatedBills at Chiefs: Final Friday injury reportsBills 'took it personal' to get running game into a rhythmJosh Allen, Patrick Mahomes exchange mutual respect ahead of another playoff clash - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bills Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bills Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
