Fresh off moving into a new position for the Carolina Panthers, master negotiator Samir Suleiman could already be up for yet another promotion. But this time, it may come from another organization completely. - According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Suleiman might be eyed as the successor to Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert. Colbert, who has served as the franchise’s general manager since 2010 and vice president since 2016, is expected to step down from his role following the upcoming draft. - Dulac notes Suleiman’s past with the Steelers as a possible connection to the inevitable opening. Suleiman, after spending nearly a decade as the director of football administration for the then St. Louis Rams, was Pittsburgh’s football administration coordinator from 2012 to 2019. - Adding to his fancy titles, the 46-year-old was promoted to vice president of football administration by the Panthers last Wednesday. Before that bump, Suleiman impressed as Carolina’s director of player negotiations and salary cap manager for the past two seasons. - - RelatedDid the Panthers edit Justin Fields' name out of their draft video? - - RelatedPanthers keep Cam Newton, draft Kenny Pickett in ESPN offseason simulation - - List - - One free agent each NFL team should want to sign in 2022 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Panthers Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Panthers Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
