Football isn’t always fair, and that’s something Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn might’ve learned in 2021. But there’s no “might’ve” when it comes to knowing what he has to do in 2022. - On Saturday, Horn hit Instagram with a multi-pic post of where he’s been, where he’s at and where he plans on going. And where he plans on going is in the same spot Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was a few days prior—at a podium accepting the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award. - - - - - - - - - - - - - View this post on Instagram - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A post shared by Jay (@jayceehorn) - - - - - Last year’s eighth overall pick had to absorb an early and abrupt ending to his first professional campaign. While backpedaling on coverage in a non-contact move, Horn sustained a season-ending foot injury in the Panthers’ Week 3 contest against the Houston Texans. - He would later be diagnosed with three broken metatarsal bones, a stunning blow to what began as an impressive rookie season for the then 21-year-old. After undergoing surgery in early October, Horn would attempt to work his way back for the tail end of the slate, but the return never came to fruition. - Luckily, he has his whole career ahead of him and will start anew in a few months’ time. And when he does, the league might want to start shining up that trophy. - - RelatedPanthers CB Jaycee Horn named PFF breakout candidate for 2022Panthers CB Jaycee Horn sends encouraging message following injury - - List - - Twitter reacts to Panthers' hiring of Steve Wilks - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Panthers Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Panthers Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
