You only get one chance to make a first impression. And, perhaps wisely, it seems like the NFL doesn’t want to make a first impression with the Carolina Panthers. - According to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely to be named the home team for the league’s voyage to Germany in 2022. Additionally, the German website bild.de has reported that the Kansas City Chiefs will be joining their Super Bowl LV foes for the trip as the “visiting” squad. - This would, obviously, eliminate the Panthers from going Deutsch next season. They—along with Tampa Bay, Kansas City and the New England Patriots—were granted home marketing area rights to Germany back in December. - Fischer’s report jives with the previous sentiment from longtime NFL scribe Peter King. Last week, King theorized it’d be the Buccaneers getting the first NFC-hosted contest with the Panthers being the next for 2024. - Considering where both teams are in terms of appeal, you can’t blame the league for serving up the recent Super Bowl champions to a new audience. Even without Tom Brady, Tampa Bay should be an infinitely more respectable product to watch than whatever Carolina is setting themselves up to be. - - RelatedPanthers start low in early 2022 offseason power rankingsContract details for Panthers' new deal with TE Ian Thomas - - List - - 12 former Panthers chosen in 2022 USFL Draft - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Panthers Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Panthers Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
