In a preseason tilt against the New York Giants on Aug. 29, then New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton threw what some believed could’ve been his last NFL pass. And although that afternoon at MetLife Stadium didn’t serve as the site of his final throw, it might be the site of his next one. - According to Panthers beat writer Sheena Quick, the Giants are a “possible landing spot” for the Carolina Panthers’ all-time leading passer. Newton is set to officially become an unrestricted free agent on March 14. - - I’m being told that NYG is a possible landing spot for Cam Newton. The Giants, who are coming off a lackluster 4-13 campaign with organizational changes abound, probably wouldn’t be able to offer him that nor a starting job—at least right away. - Newton, however, should soon find out where he stands with the Panthers before the market opens next week.
