With a ton of focus under and around center for the Carolina Panthers, their defense’s alarmingly thin linebacking corp has gone a bit overlooked. But what’s most important is that the team itself hasn’t overlooked the spot this offseason. - As announced by the team on Sunday night, they’ve agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.6 million deal with linebacker Cory Littleton. Along with Damien Wilson earlier in the week, Littleton is now the second backer to sign on in Carolina out of free agency. - The 28-year-old will be entering his seventh NFL season in 2022. He spent the first four of those with the Los Angeles Rams, where he was selected as a Second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2018, and the last two with the Las Vegas Raiders. - Littleton has averaged a smidge over 117 tackles over his past four seasons. He’ll, presumably, help headline the middle of Phil Snow’s defense with Wilson, Shaq Thompson and Frankie Luvu. - - RelatedPanthers restructure LB Shaq Thompson's contractFrankie Luvu extension keeps versatility, insurance for Panthers defense - - List - - Panthers 2022 free agency tracker - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Panthers Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Panthers Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
