If you’re still pining for Luke Kuechly to return to the Carolina Panthers sideline with a play sheet and a headset, well, you’re going to get your wish. Kinda. - Minus the play sheet, the headset and the every Panther not named Brian Burns—Kuechly will be on the sideline for the upcoming 2022 Pro Bowl. The seven-time Pro Bowler was named one of four Legends Captains for the all-star event on Feb. 6. - Joining Kuechly, who will be mentoring the NFC’s defense, is former Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders tight end Jason Witten. Witten, obviously, will be taking on the conference’s offense. Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back Rod Woodson will be opposing them on the AFC trench. - Burns and the rest of that NFC defense will assuredly be glad to have the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year at their disposal. Upon retiring at the age of 28—Kuechly had racked up those franchise-leading seven Pro Bowl nods, seven All-Pro selections and a spot on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. - Kuechly had also served as a pro scout for the Panthers from 2020 to 2021, but stepped down from the position to (in true Luke Kuechly fashion) free up his autumns for some time in the wilderness. Welcome back from the woods, Luke. - - RelatedPanthers LB Jermaine Carter shares what he learned from Luke Kuechly - - RelatedPanthers great Luke Kuechly visits Sean McDermott, Buffalo Bills - - List - - Panthers' final 2021 statistical leaders - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Panthers Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Panthers Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
