- - - The Cincinnati Bengals could go a vast number of different directions in free agency over the course of the next week or so. - They could spend big on massive names that fix things like the offensive line. But they could also be a little timider in their spending, yet still find upgrades, too. - The latter approach would seem to be what the Bengals do in official free agency predictions from The Athletic’s Sheil Kapadia, which has the team signing the following three players: - - OG Austin Corbett - OT Riley Reiff - TE Rob Gronkowski - - The explanation for the signings: - “Time to spice things up! Corbett is 27 and played well at right guard for the Rams. The Bengals can look to bring Reiff back as an option to start at right tackle and insurance at left tackle. This isn’t an either/or type of deal. The Bengals should bolster the offensive line in free agency and address it in the draft. The fun one here is Gronkowski. If the Bengals lose C.J. Uzomah, they could look to add Gronk on a one-year deal. He’s 33 but still finished last season with 55 catches for 802 yards and is an excellent blocker.” - That’s a very good big three for the Bengals in free agency. - Corbett, still just 27, allowed just three sacks over 1,081 snaps last year and has good upside. He’s an immediate upgrade at guard. Bringing Reiff back at least provides a spot-starter at right tackle. These aren’t the flashiest of signings, but it frees the team up to take the best guard or center available in the first round, too, while also letting prospects like Jackson Carman and D’Ante Smith stay in the mix. - Then there’s Gronkowski, who said he wants to play with Joe Burrow. They’d probably prefer to have Uzomah back for a variety of reasons, but he’d be one fun, productive way to keep the position very relevant in the passing attack. - - List - - 4 free agent signings that can fix Bengals' biggest problems - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bengals Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bengals Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
