Purdue edge rusher George Karlaftis had a productive career at Purdue, registering 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 6 pass deflections, and 3 forced fumbles. On the surface, he seems like a fairly disruptive player, when the tape was turned on he did not disappoint. - The Greece native didn’t arrive in the US until age 13 and had little knowledge about the sport of American football prior to his arrival. He was just overseas, getting his legs ready for the grind of playing defense by being on the under-16 national water polo team as the goalie. He also spent time playing other sports, but football seems to fit him well. - So while Purdue isn’t known as a football factory, as of late they have produced some intriguing NFL talent. Rondale Moore, David Bell as well as Karlaftis are all names who people are already familiar with or will get to know as they get into the NFL. With Dallas thinning out at the edge rusher following the close of the 2022 season, is another edge rusher in play for them? Let’s take a look.
