New Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett has hired the first two members of his coaching staff. - Denver hired former Green Bay Packers tight ends coach Justin Outten as their new offensive coordinator, agent Richmond Flowers III announced on Twitter on Wednesday (Flowers represents both Hackett and Outten). - It was already widely expected, but this officially confirms that Pat Shurmur won’t return as offensive coordinator in 2022. - In addition to Outten, the Broncos also hired former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as their new quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator on Wednesday, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. - Kubiak will replace former QBs coach Mike Shula. - Hackett, Green Bay’s former offensive coordinator, will call plays in Denver, but Outten and Kubiak will have key roles on the offensive staff. - On defense, the Broncos are not expected to bring back coordinator Ed Donatell. Denver has requested an interview with Los Angeles Rams secondary coach/pass game coordinator Ejiro Evero, who runs a similar defense to Vic Fangio, the Broncos’ former head coach. - Denver also asked for permission to interview Baltimore Ravens run game coordinator/defensive line coach Anthony Weaver for the DC opening, but Evero is believed to be the favorite to replace Donatell. - We are tracking all of the team’s coaching decisions on this page. - - List - - 7 dates NFL fans should know in February - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Broncos Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Broncos Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
