With the Senior Bowl in the rearview mirror and the Super Bowl wrapping up later today, NFL draft season has officially arrived. - In his first post-Senior Bowl NFL mock draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos selecting Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett with the ninth overall pick in the first round. - Here is Easterling’s commentary for the Pickett selection: - The Aaron Rodgers rumors will persist throughout the offseason, but until it actually happens, quarterback will remain Denver’s biggest need. Pickett may lack the high-end upside of [Malik] Willis, but he’s more pro-ready right now, and a team like the Broncos could draw connections between him and Joe Burrow. - After Pickett, Easterling has the Broncos going on to select Georgia DL Devonte Wyatt (pictured; No. 40), Ohio State OT Nicholas Petit-Frere (No. 64), Oklahoma EDGE Nik Bonitto (No. 75) and Oklahoma LB Brian Asamoah (No. 96). - Having five picks in the first three rounds will give Denver flexibility, with trades a likely possibility.
