DeMarcus Ware is inexplicably not a member of the 2022 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, and one of his former coaches is not happy about it. - Wade Phillips took to Twitter earlier this week to question why Ware was not voted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. - - How is a Nine time pro bowler and Four time first team all pro who is Nineth all time sack leader in the NFL – 2000’s all Decade team – 11 time team captain and Super Bowl winner DeMarcus Ware Not in NFL HOF? - — Wade Phillips (@sonofbum) February 22, 2022 - - - Ware spent his first nine years in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys before playing the final three years of his career with the Denver Broncos. - Phillips was Ware’s head coach in Dallas from 2007-2010 and his defensive coordinator in Denver from 2015-2016. During his two stints under Phillips, Ware totaled 72 sacks and 20 forced fumbles in 85 games. - In addition to accolades Phillips mentioned in his tweet, Ware also led the NFL in sacks twice and was a two-time Butkus Award winner. - Ware retired from the NFL in 2017 after recording 138.5 sacks over 12 seasons (178 games).
