The Green Bay Packers (and many other NFL teams) are waiting for quarterback Aaron Rodgers to make a decision on his future. The 38-year-old veteran seems to be weighing the options of either (1) staying in Green Bay, (2) asking for a trade or (3) retiring. - Rodgers is expected to make his decision soon, perhaps as early as this week. If the QB ends up asking for a trade, the Denver Broncos like their chances of landing the four-time NFL MVP, according to a report from NFL Network’s James Palmer. - “They’re in a holding pattern as they wait — and the rest of the NFL does — to see what Aaron Rodgers is going to do,” Palmer said of the Broncos during a recent appearance on NFLN. “Because they do believe, if he decides that he wants to play elsewhere, they think they have a very good shot at landing Aaron Rodgers.” - Palmer noted that Rodgers’ relationship with Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett would obviously help Denver’s chances. Hackett served as Green Bay’s offensive coordinator from 2019-2021. - If the Broncos do not land Rodgers or another big-name veteran this offseason, Drew Lock will presumably get a chance to compete for the starting job this offseason. - Denver has the draft capital and salary cap space required to make a splash, though, so QB will be a position to watch in the coming weeks. - Follow the Broncos Wire Podcast: - Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Podcasts - - - List - - 30 best draft prospects at Broncos' biggest positions of need - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Broncos Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Broncos Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
