- - That was fast. - The Russell Wilson trade won’t become official until Wednesday, but the quarterback is already busy planning offseason throwing sessions with Denver Broncos wide receivers. - Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton made an appearance on NFL Network on Thursday and said he was on a flight when news of the trade block. - “As soon as I landed my phone was going off and it was Jerry [Jeudy], Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler and Russ,” Sutton said. - The receiver went on to say that Wilson quickly told the receivers that he’s ready and eager to get to work. - “To hear that already so early in this process and our first time being able to talk to him, it sets the tempo for our entire team … it’s exciting, for sure.” - The veteran quarterback has already spoken with his new teammates about getting together to throw this spring. - “We’ve been in talks already, trying to figure out a way to get all the guys in one spot,” Sutton said. “And even just sit down and talk ball a little bit, just get to know each other, get to run the basic routes, to get that timing [and] feel down. As you know, being able to get as many reps in as you possibly can is important.” - Wilson has a mini football field in his backyard, and he used it to workout with his Seahawks teammates in the past. - Sutton said they’re hoping to get some work in before OTAs begin. Because they have a new head coach, the Broncos are allowed to begin their offseason program on April 4. - Follow the Broncos Wire Podcast: - Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Podcasts - - - Gallery - These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans - - - - - - view 24 images - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Broncos Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Broncos Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
