The Denver Broncos might have a new face at outside linebacker this fall — not a free agent signing or draft pick, but an in-house candidate. - The Broncos “plan to give Baron Browning [a] look at outside linebacker” this offseason, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Denver also planned to have Browning practice both inside and outside last year, but injuries forced the Broncos to have him focus on one position. - Browning spent all of last season as an ILB, earning nine starts. - If Browning is moved to OLB, Denver will have good depth with Bradley Chubb, Randy Gregory, Malik Reed and Jonathon Cooper among the team’s top options in addition to Browning. - Moving him to OLB would leave the Broncos a little thin at ILB, however. We had Browning penciled in as a starter across from Josey Jewell going into 2022, but new signee Alex Singleton now seems to be a potential starting candidate. It’s also possible that Denver might plan to add another ILB this offseason (maybe even Bobby Wagner?). - Behind Jewell and Singleton (if Browning doesn’t count), the team’s top backup inside linebackers would be Jonas Griffith and Justin Strnad. It’s probably safe to assume the Broncos will at least add depth at the position during the NFL draft next month. - Follow the Broncos Wire Podcast: - Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Podcasts - - - List - - Randy Gregory signing: Cowboys fan provides Dallas perspective for Broncos fans - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Broncos Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Broncos Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
