When slot cornerback K’Waun Williams signed with the Denver Broncos last week, it was originally reported as a two-year, $7 million contract that averaged $3.5 million per season. - Terms of the deal are now known and it’s actually an even more team-friendly deal than originally expected. Williams’ contract with the Broncos is actually worth $5.2 million, according to OverTheCap.com. - Williams received a $750,000 signing bonus that will be prorated over the next two years as $375,000 salary cap hits in 2022 and 2023. - This season, Williams will have a base salary of $1.34 million and a roster bonus of $510,000 with a total cap hit of $2.105 million. - Next year, Williams’ base salary will increase to $2.09 million and he will have another $510,000 roster bonus with a total cap hit of $2.975 million. - This is a very manageable contract for Denver, and the Broncos could get out of it in 2023 with a “dead money” hit of $785,000 and a net cap savings of $2.19 million. - If all goes to plan, though, Williams will spend the next two years in Denver as a play-making nickelback on a bargain contract. - Follow the Broncos Wire Podcast: - Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Podcasts - - - List - - DJ Jones signing: 49ers fan provides San Francisco perspective for Broncos fans - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Broncos Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Broncos Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
