The Denver Broncos claimed punter Corliss Waitman off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. - Because the NFL playoffs have started, Waitman won’t officially join Denver’s 90-man offseason roster until after the Super Bowl. - Waitman (6-2, 210 pounds) is a Belgium-born specialist who played college football at South Alabama before signing with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He had brief stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots in 2021 before returning to Pittsburgh. - Waitman, 26, punted in two games for the Steelers this season with a long of 63 yards and an average of 52.1 yards on seven punts. - Broncos punter Sam Martin had the third-best net average per punt in 2021 (42.8) and he tied for the fifth-most punts downed inside the 20-yard line (28).
