The Detroit Lions have many different ways to continue the franchise rebuild in the 2022 offseason. In continuing with the series, this pathway explores another such combination of free agency, cuts, trades and the draft that GM Brad Holmes and his staff could consider. - Lions mock offseason for 2022, first edition - Lions mock offseason v2.0: The one with the trades - This offseason scenario delves into what the Lions would need to do to land the flavor of the minute at quarterback, Liberty’s Malik Willis. It’s easy to see why the Lions would be interested in landing Willis after coaching him during Senior Bowl week. It’s also darn near impossible to find a current mock draft around that has Willis available at No. 32 overall anymore, a byproduct of how Willis performed with the Lions coaching him in Mobile. - As with the other scenarios, this is an idea — a path the team can follow, not a recommendation or endorsement. It’s not a prediction either, just a look at how the team might think. The last in the series will be the “what I would do” edition.
