There are once again three quarterbacks on the Detroit Lions roster. Two returning free agents officially rejoined starter Jared Goff on Tuesday with backup Tim Boyle and third-stringer David Blough signing new contracts with the team. - The Lions announced the moves in the same press release, which did not divulge the contractual terms for either quarterback. Both signings were previously reported. Boyle’s deal was initially reported as being worth up to $2 million. - Boyle played in three games in his first year in Detroit, all in relief of an unavailable Goff. He completed 64.9 percent of his passes, throwing for three touchdowns and six interceptions. Blough did not attempt a pass in 2021, only playing four snaps in mop-up duty. He started five games in 2019 for an injured Matthew Stafford, completing 54 percent of his attempts with four TDs against six INTs. - - RelatedThe Lions must find a better backup QB option than Tim Boyle -   - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Lions Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Lions Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
