Jordan Thomas is no longer a member of the Detroit Lions. - You’re forgiven if you didn’t remember that Thomas was ever on the Lions. The tight end never suited up for Detroit. He was signed to a reserve/future contract back in January. The team never even assigned Thomas a jersey number. - Thomas, 25, was a sixth-round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2018 NFL draft. He started 10 games as a rookie but has played in just 11 games in the ensuing three seasons thanks to a litany of injuries. He was waived/injured by the Indianapolis Colts before the 2021 season. - The Lions officially released Thomas with a non-football injury designation, per the NFL’s transaction wire. - - RelatedLions re-sign long snapper Scott Daly - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Lions Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Lions Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
