It’s a big offseason for Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah, no doubt about it. After two underwhelming, injury-ravaged seasons, Okudah needs a strong 2022 to get his promising career back on track. - The young CB offered an optimistic glimpse at his recovery from an Achilles injury that ended his 2021 season after just 48 snaps. Okudah posted a video of some recent on-field work he’s performing in his rehabilitation. - He looks like he’s moving very well for being six months out from the injury. Note the portion of the clip that begins at the 31-second mark, where he stutter-steps and then explodes out of the set to match the receiver. - - Day 192. God, I give you all glory.. pic.twitter.com/e5lrR2zvxV - — Jeff Okudah (@jeffokudah) March 28, 2022 - - - It’s a promising development for a player whose development holds so much promise for the Lions defense. After just 10 games in two seasons since being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Okudah is no longer guaranteed a prime spot in the secondary. But his healthy potential remains the highest of any player currently on the entire defense. The Lions need that to come to fruition in 2022. - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Lions Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Lions Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
