The divisional round of the playoffs produced one of the most intense and thrilling weekends of professional sports in anyone’s lifetime. All four games were decided on a walk-off win on the final play. - Three of those were in regulation on game-winning field goals as time expired. The fourth, the instant classic between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, progressed to overtime when the Chiefs tied the game on a regulation-ending field goal. - Kansas City won the coin toss and the game by scoring a touchdown on the only drive of the extra session. The critical nature of the coin toss rubbed a lot of people wrong. One of them is a player who hopes to be in games like we saw this weekend in the near future, Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. - St. Brown went on Twitter to congratulate the teams for a phenomenal game and also plea for a change to the overtime rule: - - Great game by both teams but the overtime rules have got to change!! No coin flip should have that much power - — Amon-Ra (@amonra_stbrown) January 24, 2022 - - - St. Brown and the Lions lived through a tie with the Steelers during his rookie campaign, a game where the coin toss meant nothing in the end. But the inequity created by an outside force on the game is something that the NFL needs to look at for the future. - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Lions Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Lions Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
