The AFC championship game was about as disappointing as they come in terms of losses. - It was a tale of two halves for the Kansas City Chiefs. In the first half, they were in control and appeared to be coasting to their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance. In the second half, the wheels fell off and the Ferrari they were driving went tumbling off of a cliff. - The worst part about it is knowing this team’s potential, how close they were and that there is no redemption — at least not for this iteration of the Chiefs. The players, coaches and fans will have to wait until next season and next year’s team could wind up looking quite different. - In our latest morning after column, we discuss the missed opportunities, both in the game and over the course of Patrick Mahomes’ career in Kansas City. We also take a look at the lack of situational preparation this week after the team’s triumphant 13 seconds in the divisional round, plus Tyrann Mathieu’s words after the loss.
