Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire had an incredible display of sportsmanship after the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC championship game. - In the immediate chaos of the clock hitting zero and the Bengals punching their ticket to Super Bowl LVI, Edwards-Helaire ran through the crowd to find his former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase. The two were on the same LSU national championship team in 2019 along with Bengals QB Joe Burrow. Edwards-Helaire spoke with Burrow briefly too, but his words to Chase were really special. - Check them out down below: - - An @LSUfootball bond that extends far beyond football.@Real10jayy__ and @Clydro_22 shared a special moment on Sunday pic.twitter.com/e4R1zIhIz0 - — NFL Films (@NFLFilms) February 2, 2022 - - - “Not too many opportunities go up there and get that,” Edwards-Helaire said to Chase. “Hey, we went up there. Go get that, bruh. Go get that. We talked about all that shit in Mexico. We talked about all that shit in Mexico. . . and I told you. We sat down in that room and I said, ‘Aye, you gonna be the greatest receiver to ever do this shit.’ I sat here and told you that between me and you, don’t ever let nobody tell you nothing different, bruh. Go get you a ring, bring that back home and handle business. I love you.” - Edwards-Helaire, of course, played in and lost Super Bowl LV. He knows that these opportunities to win a championship don’t come often. - What’s really impressive here was that instead of being disappointed that the Chiefs just blew their shot at making it back to the Super Bowl, he was genuinely excited for his former teammate. He could have just as easily been sulking, and instead, he chose to find Chase and deliver that impassioned vote of confidence. It’s quite the show of maturity from the 22-year-old running back. - - List - - List of Chiefs players officially participating in 2022 Pro Bowl - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Chiefs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Chiefs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
