Offseason training is officially underway for Kansas City Chiefs QBs Patrick Mahomes and Shane Buechele. - Just a week after football season concluded, both players are back in action getting their bodies prepared for the 2022 NFL season. With the disappointing end to the 2021 NFL season, it’s a safe bet that both Mahomes and Buechele were anxious to get back to work. - The two Texas natives just so happen to be training together to kick off the offseason and this probably won’t be the last time they cross paths. Mahomes and Buechele’s trainer, Bobby Stroupe, posted a short teaser of the two players getting some work in at the Athlete Performance Enhancement Center (APEC) Dallas-Fort Worth facilities. - Check out the clip of the two players stretching down below: - - Couple @Chiefs QBs working. pic.twitter.com/iRM5L4qjMv - — Bobby Stroupe (@bobbystroupe) February 22, 2022 - - - Mahomes has been training with Stroupe and APEC since he was in grade school. They’ve developed a unique routine over the years that is really catered to his skill set and body. The same goes for Buechele, Mecole Hardman, Bobby Witt Jr. and all the other athletes who work with APEC and Stroupe. - This is a good opportunity for Buechele to work alongside Mahomes. The second-year quarterback out of SMU is expected to be the No. 2 quarterback in Kansas City next season with Chad Henne slated for free agency. Mahomes had high praise for Buechele and his work ethic after his promotion to the 53-man roster during the 2021 season. Offseason training should only strengthen the bond they already share. - - List - - Looking at Chiefs' potential free agent options at cornerback - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Chiefs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Chiefs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
