The Kansas City Chiefs are hard at work during the final leg of the pre-draft circuit. - Scouts continue to visit various college campuses for pro days on fact-gathering missions so the team can best assemble their draft board. The latest stop for the Chiefs was my old stomping grounds in Champaign, Illinois at the University of Illinois. They were among the 31 NFL teams present for workouts and position drills on Friday. - S Kerby Joseph, who went through testing at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, went through position drills in front of scouts. He was the clear star of the show, but some other Illini put up impressive performances. Here are just a few that could be of interest to the Chiefs: - - CB Tony Adams (5-11, 202 lbs, 4.34s 40-yard dash, 14 bench press, 41.5-inch vertical, 131-inch broad jump, 4.04s shuttle) - LB Khalan Tolson (5-11, 231 lbs, 4.45s 40-yard dash, 24 bench press) - C Doug Kramer (6-2, 301 pounds, 4.83s 40-yard dash, 26 bench press, 109-inch broad jump, 29.5-inch vertical) - OLB Owen Carney Jr. (6-3, 275 pounds, 4.57s 40-yard dash) - QB Brandon Peters (6-4, 228 pounds, 4.63s 40-yard dash, 124-inch broad jump, 36-inch vertical jump) - - The Chiefs added former Illini Nick Allegretti in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft and he’s since developed into a key depth piece for the team. Perhaps other players from the school can follow in his footsteps, as most of the above figure to be Day 3 draft picks or priority free agent signings. - - List - - 5 bargain free agents for Chiefs to consider in 2022 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Chiefs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Chiefs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
