The Kansas City Chiefs have traded away superstar WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for a haul of draft picks. - The team already had nine picks in the 2022 NFL draft, but now they’ve added three new picks in the trade, bringing the total 12 picks. They’ve also added two draft picks (fourth and sixth round) in 2023 when Kansas City plays host to the NFL draft. - Here’s an updated look at the Chiefs’ draft picks in 2022: - - Round 1, 29 overall (via Miami) - Round 1, 30 overall - Round 2, 50 overall (via Miami) - Round 2, 62 overall - Round 3, 94 overall - Round 3, 103 overall (Compensatory) - Round 4, Pick 121 (via Miami) - Round 4, 135 overall - Round 7, 233 overall (Hughes trade) - Round 7, 243 overall (Durant trade) - Round 7, 251 overall - Round 7, 259 overall (Compensatory) - - Chiefs GM Brett Veach has never made more than six picks in a given draft, so expect some of these to be packaged in trades to give the team some flexibility to move around in the draft. They obviously have a big need at the WR position now, with Hill going to play in Miami. They also need to look to improve things at the edge rusher position and in secondary if the team is going to have any shot at success in 2022. These draft picks are now increasingly important for the future of football success in Kansas City. - - List - - 6 things to know about new Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Chiefs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Chiefs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
