The Kansas City Chiefs took a flier on former first-round 2016 NFL draft pick Corey Coleman, who looks to reboot his NFL career after missing the 2021 NFL season. - Formerly with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, the 27-year-old Coleman isn’t taking this new opportunity with Kansas City lightly. In fact, he’s working this offseason with one of the most renowned private receiver coaches — David Robinson. A former college wideout with Oklahoma during the mid-2000s, Robinson has made a career out of training NFL receivers. - Coleman has actually been working with Robinson since he was a prospect coming out of Baylor. The training that he received helped Coleman win the Biletnikoff Award in 2015 and get drafted No. 15 overall in the 2016 NFL draft. Now, with a huge opportunity in front of him with the Chiefs, Coleman is back “in the lab” and working with Robinson out in Texas. - Check it out: - - Kansas City Chiefs WR @TheCoreyColeman in the lab Keepin his knife sharp!!! “Train Like A Pro” Come Get Some @TrustMyEyesO @BobbyBeltTX @AroundTheNFL @RosterWatch @Chiefs @FBA_Sports @tshaw2222 pic.twitter.com/7A6TJcyTwj - — David Robinson (@drobalwayzopen) March 30, 2022 - - - That’s some pretty impressive footwork and change of direction from Coleman, especially after a year away from the game in 2021. The two years prior he’d been limited by an ACL injury suffered in 2019 training camp with the Giants. Even in this short video, it looks like he could suit up and play in a game tomorrow. - In the past, Robinson has worked with some NFL greats like Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders and Dez Bryant. Some of the current NFL receivers he’s worked with and continues to work with include Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin, Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett, Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy, Jaguars WR Christian Kirk and Browns WR Jakeem Grant. Robinson has even worked with some current Chiefs players before, including Mecole Hardman, Daurice Fountain and Ronald Jones. - - List - - Chiefs split picks on offense, defense in Draft Wire's latest 3-round projections - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Chiefs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Chiefs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
