- The scoreboard was surely a frustrating night for the New England Patriots: 47-10. It seemed to be an equally as frustrating performance for quarterback Mac Jones in his playoff debut against the Bufallo Bills in the wild-card round on Saturday night. Jones went 24 of 38 for 232 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Perhaps his biggest blunder was the opening-drive interception on a pass intended for wide receiver Nelson Agholor. Buffalo safety Micah Hyde ended up snagging the interception, and what proved to be a momentum-shifter in the game. Despite a promising rookie season, Jones was not happy with the outcome of this game. I think losing s terrible and none of us wanted to do that tonight. There s nothing we can do about it, there s a lot to look forward to and be positive about and learn from. There is nothing to hang our heads on. I m super proud of the people that have helped me grow as a person, coaches, players, support staff and all that. There s a lot to look back on, and just learn. There s nothing to feel sorry about, it s just a learning experience to get better for next year. Jones finished the year throwing for 3.801 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He was an instrumental piece of the Patriots turnaround after a 2-4 start to the season. Now, the organization will head into the offseason. in what may be an offseason of uncertainty, Jones will be looking to improve.
