The Jets’ offensive staff will look a little different in 2022. - Senior offensive assistant Matt Cavanaugh won’t return next season, according to The Athletic’s Connor Hughes. Cavanaugh only signed a one-year contract to join Robert Saleh’s staff after Greg Knapp died before the 2021 season. Cavanaugh has 30 years of coaching experience in the NFL and previously served as the Jets’ quarterbacks coach under Rex Ryan from 2009-2012. - Zach Wilson’s personal QB coach John Beck likely won’t return either, per Hughes. Beck joined the Jets staff in Week 8 this past season in a move Saleh called a “win-win for everybody.” Beck worked exclusively with the quarterbacks during the season. Hughes added that the team has not completely closed the door on Beck, but the expectation is that he will return to his private coaching business. - The plan is for quarterbacks coach Rob Calabrese to take on more responsibility, per Hughes. New York will likely hire a quality control coach as well. - - List - - 4 things to know about Jets assistant Matt Cavanaugh - - - - - - - - List - - 6 things to know about new Jets offensive assistant John Beck - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
