Two former Saints and Jets coaches are candidates to join Dennis Allen’s staff in New Orleans. - The new head coach is looking to hire Doug Marrone and John Morton, according to NOLA.com’s Jeff Duncan. Marrone has head-coaching experience in Buffalo and Jacksonville, while Morton was an offensive coordinator with the Jets in 2017. - It’s unclear what positions the two would fill, but both coaches have already enjoyed stints with the Saints under former head coach Sean Payton. Marrone played for the Saints in 1989 and served as their offensive coordinator and offensive line coach from 2006-2008. Morton, meanwhile, was an offensive assistant in New Orleans in 2006 and was the wide receivers coach from 2015-2016. - Marrone began his NFL coaching career with the Jets, serving as their offensive line coach from 2002-2005. Morton, meanwhile, had little to work with in his one season as New York’s play-caller. The Jets finished 28th in yards and 24th in points before he was fired. - - List - - Jets 2021 End of Year Awards: Picking MVP, Breakout Player, and more - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
