Darrelle Revis is among three ex-Jets who will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the first time in 2023. - Ex-Jets running backs Chris Johnson and Matt Forte will join Revis among the newcomers, though neither spent as much time in green as the cornerback. Other notable names who will be eligible for the first time include OL Joe Thomas, LB James Harrison and DE Dwight Freeney. - Revis has a real shot at immediate induction. Opposing quarterbacks feared him during the prime of his 11-year career, which included two stints with the Jets (2007-2012, 2015-2016). New York drafted Revis 14th overall out of Pitt in 2007. He also spent one season each with the Bucs, Patriots and Chiefs. - Revis won a Super Bowl with New England in 2014. He finished his career with seven Pro Bowls, four All-Pro nods and was named to the Hall of Fame’s All-2010s Team. Revis totaled 29 interceptions and 139 defended passes in his career, numbers that could have been higher had the opposition ventured toward his island more often. - Johnson, meanwhile, spent the 2014 season with the Jets — long after he was a 2,000-yard rusher in Tennessee — before finishing his career with the Cardinals. Forte spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Jets after eight seasons with the Bears. - - List - - The 9 best Jets not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
