Ex-Jets head coach Adam Gase has been floated as an offensive coordinator candidate for the Patriots, but he and New England have not spoken about the job. - That’s according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, who added that talks of Bill O’Brien possibly getting the job have cooled as well. Gase and O’Brien were linked to New England’s vacant coordinator position in early February after Josh McDaniels became the Raiders’ head coach. - Gase has not held an NFL job since the Jets fired him following the 2020 season. He tallied just nine wins over two years in New York and went 2-14 in 2020. The Jets hired Gase believing he could develop Sam Darnold and turn the team into an offensive power, but New York had one of the NFL’s worst offenses during the coach’s short tenure. - Gase was the head coach in Miami prior to joining the Jets. He went 23-25 in three seasons. He was the Broncos’ offensive coordinator from 2013-2014 and the Bears’ offensive coordinator in 2015. - - List - - Offensive rankings show Jets were far from brilliant under Adam Gase - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
