Former NFL receiver Chad Johnson thinks he knows how to unlock the Jets offense. - He tweeted that the Jets should use Elijah Moore like the Rams use Cooper Kupp. Johnson added he thinks Zach Wilson is “a very good QB.” - Turning Moore into Kupp is easier said than done, but certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Kupp is four inches taller and about 30 pounds heavier than Moore and coming off a record-setting year. He led the league with 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns, won offensive player of the year, finished third in MVP voting, and won Super Bowl MVP. - But Moore and Kupp have similar skill sets and are both known as route-running technicians. The duo ran a lot of seam, post and corner routes, per ESPN’s Seth Walder. However, Kupp saw a lot more action on hitch, deep fade and flat routes than Moore. It also helped Kupp that the Rams typically had at least one other quality pass-catcher alongside him – whether it was Robert Woods or Odell Beckham Jr. – and a potent running game. - Matthew Stafford behind a rock-solid line of scrimmage added another level to Kupp’s dominance. - Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur can certainly find ways to incorporate more routes in Moore’s playbook, but not if the Jets are still lacking in the pass-catching department behind him and don’t have a good offensive line blocking for Wilson. Moore has the ability to play at a higher level on his own if the Jets try to use him like the Rams use Kupp, but not if he doesn’t have the support around him like Kupp does in Los Angeles. - - List - - 9 wide receivers the Jets could target in free agency - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
