Braxton Berrios and the Jets have expressed interest in an extension, but the receiver won’t give Gang Green a hometown discount after spending the past two years in New York, according to The Athletic’s Connor Hughes. - “Obviously I want to be here and I’ve said it so many different times. I do want to be here,” Berrios said in mid-February on WFAN’s Tiki & Tierney Show. “Sadly, this part is now partially business and not just football.” - Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh also sound like they want to keep Berrios around, but it all comes back to the price. It’s unclear what Berrios is asking for, but a few comparable players’ contracts paint a picture of the range the Jets should expect to pay if they want to keep him. - Berrios has played a key role with the Jets as a kick return specialist and offensive playmaker. He earned an All-Pro selection after leading the NFL in kick return yards in 2021 and finished with 471 scrimmage yards and four total touchdowns. - Will Braxton Berrios play for Jets next season? - Powered By PickUp - - List - - Jets Free Agent Profile: What to do with WR Braxton Berrios? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
