Jamison Crowder’s time with the Jets could be inching closer to its end. - New York is likely going to let the veteran slot receiver hit the open market when free agency begins, according to the New York Daily News’ DJ Bien-Aime. - Crowder’s impending free agency does not come as much of a surprise. Elijah Moore is poised to be the Jets’ slot receiver of the future, while Braxton Berrios is also a candidate to play the position if he is re-signed. New York has been engaged with Berrios’ representation, though it’s unlikely the versatile receiver gives New York a hometown discount. - Crowder led the Jets in receiving in 2021 with 51 receptions for 447 yards and two touchdowns despite missing five games due to injury. Calf and groin injuries plagued Crowder throughout the year and forced him out of action after just one quarter against the Bills in the final week of the season. - In three seasons with New York, Crowder has caught 188 passes for 1,979 yards and 14 touchdowns. His first season with Gang Green was his most productive, as he hauled in 78 passes for 833 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. - Crowder signed a three-year deal worth $28.5 million with $17 million in guaranteed money in March 2019. He originally entered the 2021 season with a cap hit of $11.4 million and a base salary of $10 million, which was eventually restructured to $5 million after the signings of Keelan Cole and Corey Davis. - - List - - Jets Free Agent Profile: What to do with WR Jamison Crowder? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
