Jason Kelce doesn’t like visiting the Jets or Giants. - The long-time Eagles center picked MetLife Stadium as his “least favorite” venue while he was a guest host for SportsRadio 94WIP on Wednesday. - “Hands down, not even close, MetLife Stadium,” Kelce said. - Kelce knows MetLife well after 11 seasons with the Eagles. He’s played there at least once every season because Philadelphia plays the Giants at home at least once every year. He’s been there 12 total times in his whole career. He dislikes playing there not because of the teams he faced or the fans, but because of the field conditions. - “It’s a terrible surface,” Kelce said. “I’m surprised the league hasn’t stepped in at this point. But I think it’s really bad. There’s a higher injury rate on that surface for years now. I don’t know if it’s because there’s two teams playing on it or what’s going on there, but it’s easily the least favorite.” - Kelce left the Eagles’ Week 12 matchup against the Giants at MetLife Stadium with a knee injury but didn’t miss a game this past season. He also enjoyed a nice water slide during the 2021 preseason. - - Jason Kelce brave man sliding in the rain on the field at MetLife Stadium - Wait for it….. - OIinemem are just different pic.twitter.com/4EvuX0CYbL - — John Clark (@JClarkNBCS) August 27, 2021 - - - - Other players and coaches have lamented about MetLife recently, including 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and 49ers RB Raheem Mostert. Independent field inspectors cleared MetLife Stadium’s turf as safe in 2020. - So if Kelce ever leaves the Eagles, don’t count on him being interested in the Giants or Jets, where he’d have to play at MetLife for half of an entire season instead of just one game a year. - - List - - 6 centers the Jets could target in free agency - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Jets Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Jets Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
