Joe Flacco and the Jets have been talking and have a mutual interest in the quarterback’s return, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini. - Flacco, an impending free agent, has spent parts of the last two seasons as a Gang Green backup. A brief departure to Philadelphia interrupted his Jets career before New York traded for the veteran last season. - Flacco, 37, played in five games for the Jets in 2020 and added two more appearances in 2021. He totaled a 57.4 completion percentage, 1,202 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. The Jets went 0-5 in Flacco’s five starts, though he hasn’t had much talent to work with. - Robert Saleh already said that he wants Flacco and fellow backup Mike White to return in 2022 so that the Jets have plenty of insurance behind Zach Wilson.
