Joe Douglas spent lavishly last offseason, but he didn’t see a strong return on his investments. - Not only did the Jets lose their biggest acquisition, edge rusher Carl Lawson, before the season even started, but three other free agents finished the year on injured reserve and most battled injures all season. Veteran safety Lamarcus Joyner only played nine defensive snaps before a tricep injury ended his season and defense end Vinny Curry landed on the non-football injury list with a rare blood disorder. The Jets waived Curry on Jan. 8. - The rest of New York’s free agent signings had middling seasons.
