The Bucs have signed former Jets WR Vyncint Smith to a reserve/future contract, according to The Athletic’s Greg Auman. - The Jets allowed the contract of Smith and several other practice squad players to expire earlier this month. Smith had been with the Jets since 2019. - The 25-year-old debuted with the Texans in 2018 as an undrafted free agent. Smith saw a handful of opportunities with the Jets in 2019 and 2020, totaling 20 games and four starts over that span. However, Smith spent most of 2021 on New York’s practice squad and wasn’t elevated until Week 14. He played in two games and saw just one target. - Smith ended his Jets career with 18 receptions for 238 yards. A speedster, he also ran for a touchdown in 2019.
