Jimmy Garoppolo’s shoulder surgery Tuesday went off without a hitch. NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo reported the 49ers’ quarterback had his throwing shoulder operated on with no issues and the expectation continues to be that he’ll be able to throw well ahead of training camp. - While news post-surgery is good, there’s still a wrinkle for the 49ers to iron out in any potential trade for the veteran signal caller. A team is taking on at least some risk if they add him before seeing him back and throwing at full strength. If teams in the market for a QB are going to wait until seeing Garoppolo throw before trading for him then they’ll be waiting until late June or early July – well past this year’s draft and too late into the offseason to be very helpful for San Francisco. - On the other hand, there’ll still be a decent market if team doctors check out Garoppolo and assure he’ll be back to 100 percent before training camp starts. - Those evaluations in the days and weeks after surgery will be significant, especially with dominos starting to fall in the QB market and the free agency negotiating period set to open March 14. - - List - - 49ers announce 14 changes to coaching staff - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Niners Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Niners Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
