The Baseball Barista with Hunter Pence and Grant Brisbee are going to talk about Hunter calling a Giants game this week on TV & his perspective as a former player during Trade Deadline time. Hunter was on the call for the Giants-Cardinals game this weekend on the Giants TV broadcast. He learned a lot of things doing a game earlier this season, so that helped out a lot in this game. It was all about having fun and letting the players and the game tell the story. He talks about if it is something he really wants to do since he is retired or does he want to get involved in other aspects of baseball? The guys talk about the Trade Deadline and how it was for Hunter as a player to deal with rumors, teammates getting traded, etc. For a good team, it's all about finding the right guy that is the right fit for the team. Sometimes team's just need a guy who can bring an extra spark or something special to get them over the top. Hunter was involved in 2 Deadline trades and he talks about how he felt about each situation and if he was surprised when he heard he was gonna get dealt.
