Before the Aaron Donalds, the Cooper Kupps, and the Matthew Staffords, there were guys like Steven Jackson that carried the mantle of being the best player on the St. Louis — now Los Angeles — Rams. - Jackson, who looks like he could still be productive in the NFL right now, penned a heartfelt poem that he posted on Twitter following the organization’s Super Bowl win on Sunday. - - A message for @RamsNFL fans everywhere. pic.twitter.com/r29gV7R91f - — Steven Jackson (@sj39) February 15, 2022 - - - It’s a shame that Jackson never got an opportunity to play for a winning team during his tenure with the Rams. During his nine years with the Rams, the only time the team made the postseason was in his rookie season in 2004. - The Rams never won more than eight games during Jackson’s time with the franchise despite his production out of the backfield. Even with the team struggling to win games, Jackson is the all-time leading rusher for the Rams, finishing with 10,138 rushing yards in nine years. - The closest Jackson ever got to a Super Bowl was in 2015 with the New England Patriots. New England would lose in the AFC title game to the Denver Broncos in Jackson’s final year in the NFL. - While it’s unfortunate that he never got to experience success with the Rams, Jackson is elated to see his former team win their first Super Bowl since the 1999 season. On top of that, it’s safe to say that fans of the Rams are always going to express their support for Jackson. - - List - - Rams PFF grades: Best and worst performers from Super Bowl LVI - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Rams Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Rams Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
